Delhi-based online travel portal EaseMyTrip, which has claimed to book nearly 8-9 lakh of air passengers per month, is looking to step up its hotel and travel package booking business.
According to Nishant Pitti, co-founder and CEO of EaseMyTrip, nearly 95% of its business currently comes from flight bookings.
The remaining 5 percent represents hotel reservations, tour packages, and train and bus reservations.

The company recorded activity of 1,957 crore in 2017-18 and expects revenue of 3,000 crore in 2018-19, representing growth of over 50%.
Profitability is expected to be close to 50 crore. EaseMyTrip has not yet disclosed results for FY19.
EaseMyTrip provides nearly 20,000 hotels around the world through its portal. Plans are underway to increase this number to 15 lakh by the end of this fiscal year.
While some of the addition would be through the direct contract model, the rest would be through agents and other websites.
The company has entered into a partnership with the Malaysian Tourism Board, to promote outbound tourism from India to Malaysia.
It is also in talks with several other international tourism boards for specific reconciliations, said Rolly Sinha Dhar, vice president, corporate sales, EaseMyTrip.
Business boom
Almost 30,000 passengers book airline tickets through the website daily, and that number is growing by around 50-60% per year.
Going forward, the company hopes to maintain its growth momentum and aims for a 50% increase in turnover by the end of this fiscal year.
While there is stiff competition in the online travel space – with several companies such as MakeMyTrip, ClearTrip, and Yatra vying for one part – EaseMyTrip’s policy of not charging its customers a convenience fee. gives it an edge over other service providers, he said.
The company has more than 42,000 registered partner agents and more than eight million direct customers, nearly 85% of whom are regular consumers, he added.
